Kuro Games gave us another “Genshin could never” – moment, and all Wuthering Waves fans are more than pleased to hear about this huge change for the game's release.
The new upcoming game from Kuro Game Studios is already waiting in the starting blocks and in a little over a month, on May 22, 2024,Wuthering Waves will finally be released!
The game itself looks amazing, and many fans are already super hyped to dive into this new world. And it seems now, just before the release of the game, that Kuro Games is trying to shine even by introducing a 5-Star selector for your very first beginner standard banner unit!
HoYoverse could definitely learn a thing or two from Kuro Games!
Wuthering Waves: New 5-Star Selector Announced
That's right: with the launch of Wuthering Waves in a few weeks, every player will be able to get a pre-selected 5-star character! This will work as part of the beginner banner, where you will get a one-time discount on your pulls until you get your highly anticipated character.
This change on the part of Kuro Games was of course met with great joy and relief within the community! Finally, no more annoying account rerolling, finally no more hoping and praying and finally no more unloved first units! Now, you can start your account off the way you'd like to and get yourself whoever you want, really!
The units, which will be available in that context, are the five standard banner units:
- Verina – Spectro / Rectifier
- Calcharo – Electro / Broadblade
- Ling Yang – Glacio / Gauntlets
- Jianxin – Aero / Gauntlets
- Encore –Fusion / Rectifier

Wuthering Waves: Who Should You Choose?
Firstly, it's probably important to say that this is just a gacha game we are talking about and if you've played the game long enough in a few months, you'll probably have all the standard banner units anyway. So don't stress yourself out too much! For most players, the choice of the first 5-Star unit is probably anyway relatively clear and quick. Be it because of the appearance or the set of abilities the character will have, many players already have their favorite.
But what about those who are still undecided?
Generally speaking, it's best to pick the one you liked at first sight. Find out what role this character plays in your team and whether this suits your game plan! If the overall vibe is also convincing, you probably have a winner!
The five available characters could hardly be more different, which means there should be one to suit every budding player! If you like having a strong healer right at the start of the game, then you should take a closer look at Verina! If you're more interested in swords and raw damage, how about Calcharo? Or are you more of a spiritual type and want to play with the yin and yang of your opponents? — Then take a look at Jianxin!
