Skarner's Visual and Gameplay Update in League of Legends has just been revealed and one of his skins will have a huge price increase because of the updated look.
The Skarner VGU has finally been revealed. The former Shuriman champion has been moved to Ixtal with a brand-new background. Not only has Riot shifted his entire lore, and thus the entire story in Runeterra, but his whole kit and appearance has been reworked as well.
Now with this huge update in appearance also comes a rework of his skins and one of the cheapest skins in the game is getting the premium treatment and will be a lot more expensive. But there is a trick to get it cheaper.
League of Legends: Skarner's VGU Will Increase Price Of Earthrune Skin
Earthrune Skarner was one of the most basic skins in the game and was priced accordingly. The skin originally released in 2011 and has cost a mere 520 RP in the shop. This is going to be changing though once the Visual and Gameplay Update goes live.
The official League of Legends Twitter/X account revealed that the price is going to increase. The skin is going to be upped to deluxe tier. Thankfully this doesn't mean the skin will be a 1350 RP epic skin, but it will be going from 520 RP to 750 RP with the champion rework.

Now the good thing is that the price increase is not happening instantly. No, instead the skin is going to stay priced at 520 and Riot have announced this increase ahead of time for players to get their hands on it before it is more costly.
For the next weeks, until April 3 when Skarner's VGU goes live, the Earthrune Skarner skin will still cost 520 RP. Since this change in skin tier is only planned for the VGU, players will be able to get their hands on the cheaper skin. If you own Earthrune Skarner before the VGU, then you don't have to do anything and will just get the upgraded, better looking skin automatically. Noice.
