Team BDS top laner Adam "Adam" Maanane was benched before the game against MAD Lions KOI. Now, the reason has been revealed.
Team BDS, were one of the most popular teams at the 2023 World Championship thanks to their top laner Adam "Adam" Maanane and his unusual picks, and they made it all the way to the LEC Winter semi-finals. The team maintained a solid record throughout the LEC Winter playoffs, but had to play their semi-finals without Adam.
According to Sheepesports, Adam was benched for behavioral issues, which wouldn't be the first time that this player is in the spotlight for being toxic.
League of Legends Star Adam Benched By Team BDS For Behavioral Issues
In 2021 Adam joined Fnatic after showing promise in the LFL with Karmine Corp. There he made quite a name for himself as the team's top laner, but drama ensued after the World Championship. The team's ADC, Elias "Upset" Lipp left the tournament early because of personal reasons, something that Adam openly criticized, bringing up the topic even years later.
He's had a rocky stay in the LEC since then, with some stints on the academy team of Team BDS, the org he has been a part of since December 2021.
In 2023, he finally made his way back onto the LEC roster, even managing a berth at the 2023 League of Legends World Championship in South Korea where he gained a huge following thanks to his unique top lane picks like Darius, Olaf and Garen.
Now, fast-forward to 2024 and the player is once again caught up in some drama. Team BDS revealed that they benched the top laner. A recent report by Sheepesports revealed that his behavior is the reason behind the benching, even going as far as to yell at Team BDS' head coach Yanis "Striker" Kella.
It was reported by Sheepesports, that Adam has been getting very frustrated in the last few weeks, even quitting scrims when angry, and tilting when the team was practicing. All this culminated in the aforementioned argument, which led to Adam getting benched.
Adam is already known as a hot headed player, and getting benched will not do him any good if he wants to keep playing on a professional level. Of course, none of the information comes from Team BDS or Adam himself, so for now it's all just speculation. We'll update you if any of this is officially confirmed in any way.
