Michael Keaton went viral after the Oscars, leading fans to demand the return of maybe the most iconic Batman.
For many, Michael Keaton is The Batman – he even reprised his role for The Flash back in 2023, after all. At this point, he first portrayed the superhero in 1989 and then again in 1992 in Batman Returns.
And then, the Oscars 2024 happened, leading not only to a fun moment that went viral, but also for a barrage of fans crossing their thumbs for yet another Michael Keaton Batman.
How About A New Michael Keaton Batman After The Oscars?
Watch your mouth, Mr. Schwarzenegger! I have to admit, I giggled too at his "Batman... That son of a b*tch!", but that's besides the point. Language, sir!
The thing is: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito didn't only give Michael Keaton a little homage, but simultaneously proved that the actor can slip right back into his role at any given time. When the camera panned to Keaton, it's like Bruce Wayne never left him.
Oh, and spoiler alert. Bruce Wayne is Batman. And Michael Keaton is iconic as Bruce Wayne, leading to a whole bunch of tweets proving this very point and hoping for his return:
Open message to James Gunn: a BATMAN BEYOND film with Michael Keaton struggling to move past the demons of his decades long career as Batman while passing the baton to the next Dark Knight would be an incredibly exciting film. Just saying. pic.twitter.com/8URn7T1eaB

Fans have been very vocal about wanting Keaton to return again, and the man himself isn't opposed at all to the idea as he revealed on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast. He'd never close the door on the role, he said.
Never say never, I don't think. Everything depends upon something else.
He doesn't give too much away, though, but here's to hoping!
