Amazon has confirmed that the new live-action show will star Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir.
Nicolas Cage is ready to get back into the Spider-Suit, and this time for real. After his amazing performances as Spider-Man Noir in Into The Spider-Verse, the cinema legend has signed a deal with Amazon to portray the superhero in a live-action series.
The show will be called “Noir” and has been ordered by MGM+ and Amazon Prime. According to an official synopsis, the story will follow an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero. Sounds like a perfect fit for Cage, who turned 60 this year.
"Noir" Will Give Us Nic Cage As Spider-Man
He already proved with Into The Spider-Verse that he is a perfect fit for Spider-Man Noir, even if that was just a voice performance. Who will join Nic Cage in the cast is still unclear. But we know, that Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot will serve as showrunners, while Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal will fulfill these roles again for “Noir”.
Vernon Sanders, head of television for Amazon MGM Studios, was massively excited by the news:
“Expanding the Marvel universe with ‘Noir’ is a uniquely special opportunity and we are honored to bring this series to our global Prime Video customers. The extremely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero and the accomplished producing team with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, and the incredible team at Sony is dedicated to expanding this franchise in the most authentic way.”
It has not been announced, when viewers can expect the series. #
Considering that we only now got this announcement, it can be concluded that the show is still in early stages and that we shouldn’t expect it any sooner than late 2025.
