Cobra Kai is like a roundhouse kick of nostalgia straight to the feels, and it's not over just yet. Cobra Kai Season 6 is right around the corner, and we've got all the info you need – release date, cast and so many sensei-tional martial arts puns, you won't know whether to laugh or cry.
Whether you're a die-hard Karate Kid fan from back in the day or joined in on the fun with Cobra Kai on Netflix, one thing is for sure: both are experts at delivering kickin' good entertainment. The show picks up several decades after the events of the original movies and follows the lives of the characters Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, who are now adults.
The series explores how their lives have unfolded since their high school rivalry, with Johnny reopening the Cobra Kai dojo and Daniel struggling to maintain balance in his life.
Season 6 is going to be the last hurrah and marks the end of the show, but in true Karate Kid and Cobra Kai style, the finale promises to be the best enter-crane-ment! And due to popular demand, I'll keep the puns to myself now.
Cobra Kai Season 6: Release Date
In 15 new episodes, the journey of Daniel and Johnny comes to an end, but we'll have some time to stretch out the experience – for better or for worse. The episodes release in three batches, with the first one coming to Netflix on July 18, the next on November 28 and the last one – the finale's finale, if you will – hits our screens in 2025. Netflix has not yet shared further details on when exactly the last part will release, but I'm sure the news are going to come quick, striking like... a Cobra... Kai.
I can't help myself. Take a look for yourself what's coming before I try to make more puns:
Cobra Kai Season 6: Cast
For the cast, it is pretty obvious, that Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) will be making their return. I mean, they are the essence of this show, so obviously they are needed for the next season. Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Robby (Tanner Buchanan), Samantha (May Mouser), Tory (Peyton List) and Eli (Jakob Bertrand) will also return.
Terry Silver (Thomas Griffith) is pretty much done for as his storyline is concluded, so it's time to say goodbye to him, as well as Chozen (Yuji Okumoto). But, huge news: the legendary Master Kim Sun-Yung will be there, played by C.S. Lee! Plus, I'm pretty sure to no surprise (at least for everyone that has seen season 5) John Kreese (Martin Kove) will also be back. It looks like he will be the big bad once again, as he made his Hannibal Lecter style escape from prison. This is where speculations regarding the plot start.
Cobra Kai Season 6: Plot
So Kreese made his escape from prison, which was pretty badass, and will be back in season 6 to establish Cobra Kai once again. That will probably be the main plot. He might manipulate Johnny again, maybe by using his kid as a leverage to worsen the relationship between Robby and Johnny once again. But there will be some Kreese shenanigans going on, for sure.
Then we also have Kenny. He is still kind of a loose canon, as he was turned into a baddie by the Cobra Kai advisement. Robby had him under his wing, so we might see Robby trying to persuade Kenny, which in the Karate Kid universe means: fighting him.
Kenny and Kreese will probably join hands against the "evil" Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang Karate. Maybe we will see some more characters from the movies make their return, who knows. All I know, is that it's gonna be glorious!
