It's finally time: Amazon have given us the release date for the new Fallout TV show. In April 2024, fans of the video game turned show can experience a whole new nuclear disaster! We've got all the info right here, including the exact release date, a trailer to hype you up and a full list of the cast members.
The trend of turning video games into TV shows continues with a new franchise hitting Amazon Prime. Yep, it's Fallout's turn to have an adaptation!
The Witcher from Netflix show and The Last of Us from HBO have managed to bring beloved characters and stories to a whole new audience. Can Fallout do the same? We have high hopes.
Fallout Series Coming Earlier Than Expected
It looks like Amazon can hardly wait to bring us the first season of the Fallout series. After moving the premiere date up a day in March from April 12th to April 11th, all eight episodes will now premiere today, April 10th at 6pm PT.

Confirmed Cast For Amazon Prime's Fallout TV Show
It's been confirmed for a while now which faces we'll see in the Fallout world, and let me tell you one thing: they have already proven to be amazing actors, and we're gonna be in for a wild ride. Here are some of the cast members:
- Moises Arias (City of Ghosts, Divinity)
- Johnny Pemberton (Hot Future)
- Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, Dune)
- Xelia Mendes-Jones (Havoc)
- Aaron Moten (Father Stu, Emancipation)
- Walton Goggins (Ant-Man and the Wasp, Tomb Raider, The Hateful Eight)
- Ella Purnell (Arcane, Army of the Dead, Yellowjackets)
Excuse me, are you seeing this? Kyle MacLachlan, Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell?! True, the last two have been confirmed for a while (Goggins is playing a ghoul, which may be the best thing ever), but the others have been confirmed only recently, and MacLachlan in particular got people excited as hell.
Amazon's Fallout Promises An Exciting Plot
When Amazon shared a first look at Fallout, we also got to know a few characters a little bit ahead of time. For one, there's Lucy (Ella Purnell) – a nice, yet naive girl, forced to leave her sheltered Vault she's loved her entire life in to go on a rescue mission in the Wastelands. And you guessed it – being sheltered and naive aren't traits you need in the apocalypse, so the odds are already against our first main character.
On her journey, Lucy meets Maximus (Aaron Morten). Maximus grew up in the Wastelands and might just be the guy to show Lucy the ropes when it comes to surviving. And he's probably introduce her to the Brotherhood of Steel – because that's the closest thing to family he has.
And then there's the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) and yes, he does look like his name makes it seem. He'll be the third protagonist, walking the tightrope of being a ruthless bounty hunter and sticking to his code of honor.
What Can We Expect From The Fallout TV Show?
Lisa Joy, the co-creator of the Fallout TV show, sat down with Collider to talk about the Fallout TV series and her quote kinda says it all about what to expect from the nuclear disaster series.
It is just a gonzo, crazy, funny, adventure and a mindf*** like none you've ever seen before
We 100% believe her on that. Why? Because when I said co-creator, did you not think: but who is the other one working on the Fallout TV show? Jonathan Nolan.
Does that ring any bells? Probably because he worked on Westworld as the director and writer alongside Lisa Joy. Westworld! The show that infamously started out as an absolute gem, just to lose everything that made the first season so thoroughly amazing and then die as a major disappointment after four seasons.
As frustrating as that experience was, Joy and Nolan probably know they messed up with that as well, meaning their crash landing with Westworld may lead to a more carefully crafted Fallout show. Here's hoping they learned from their mistakes and I, personally, can finally get over the tragedy that was Westworld with the help of a nuclear disaster.
That's why there's a big red mark in my calendar for April 11, 2024 when Fallout hits Amazon Prime.
