Tips To Rank Up From Iron in Valorant
Play The Game
First of all, you need to play the game regularly, and we see it as the most essential tip of this article, so we are going to elaborate a bit. We think that Valorant, like any FPS game, can be compared to drawing – muscle memory and creativity play a considerable role here as well. But honestly, that's the case with everything you want to improve; if you really care about it, you should do it every day, at least for 10 or 15 minutes. This is especially true for Iron players who, well, for the most part, have never had any experience with FPS games, so they have to acquire it somehow and learn the basics.
It's not only about playing actual matches, but also game modes like Deathmatch, where you can learn how specific weapons work. All in all, it's about making playing Valorant a daily habit. Of course, if you really don't mind your rank because you think that you have more important things to care about than your Valorant rank, then it's fine. But well, you are reading this article for a reason, don't you?
Try playing Valorant like this for two or three weeks, and see where how much you can improve! Again, the game is really not that hard to understand, and once you get the basics, you will climb up to Bronze in no time.
Spam Unrated
Next thing you might want to focus on is playing Unrated instead of Competitive. Since you don't really get the basics yet, you will simply destroy your MMR and make it harder for yourself to climb in the future by playing ranked games, which you can read more about here.
Trust us; Radiant players do not play this game mode – most of the players you'll meet at your Unrated matches are usually in Silver or lower. It's a great way to learn the game, especially regarding economics. Moreover, you still have that competitive aspect in a way, because, well, you are playing against the other team! Try to catch some regular win streaks at Unrated and once that's done, jump back to ranked and dominate your matches with all the knowledge you have gained.
Ask Questions
If you have a more experienced Valorant player on hand, why not ask them for some advice? You might also consider your Unrated game-mode teammates. Since (unlike ranked) playing Unrated is actually about nothing, we think there's a better chance you'll meet players who might want to help you. You can also join a community full of people who play the game a lot, like the one on our Discord server, for example!
No matter how you go about it, seeking out advice from more experienced players can be a great way to break through a skill plateau and continue improving in Valorant. All in all, don't be afraid to ask for help – it could be just the thing you need to take your skills to the next level.
Read Game Guides On a Daily Basis
Another habit that will help you improve your skills in Valorant (but actually in anything) is reading guides and various texts on the topic you want to learn about, preferably every single day. Luckily for you, we specialize with that! We can recommend you some of our guides, as well as the ones you can find on Valorfeed, a Valorant-only website from the EarlyGame family:
Regardless if you are looking for an in-depth guide for your main Agent, meta predictions, or the best picks you can do on a specific map – we have it all!
Even if it will only be one article per day for you, it's all good. Maybe try to read one or two guides per day and then apply the knowledge you have gained into your games? That's how we practiced, and maybe it will work for you as well.
Don't Start With Hard-To-Play Agents
Lastly, don't use Agents that are hard to pilot if you want to climb! For example, Skye is a kind of Agent where you need to plan ahead a lot, and since you don't know what other Agents are capable of yet, you will make a lot of mistakes and make your team composition look weak. So, here are two articles that will guide you on which Valorant Agents will give you the best odds for climbing in Iron, and which won't:
And don't worry, once you get the basics, we would advise you to try everything you want! Still, you should start with Agents that will let you focus on getting the basics and good aim habits.
Ranking up in Valorant can be challenging, but it's also a rewarding and exciting journey. With dedication and hard work, you can achieve your goals and reach new heights in the game. So keep playing, keep learning, and most of all – if you really care, never give up!
