Activision are planning several Call of Duty remasters to bridge the time between new releases. Let's take a closer look.
We're all eagerly awaiting Modern Warfare II, which will surely be a huge success. But what shall we do while we wait? Can Call of Duty: Warzone tie us over each year, or do we need more?
According to leaks, several Call of Duty remasters are planned over the next few years, including absolute classics such as World at War and Call of Duty 1. This remasters should apparently make up for the mid-year CoD lag.
Call of Duty Remasters In The Works
According to a Twitter post by a known leaker called Ralph, Activision plans to remaster several Call of Duty titles to fill the gaps between new CoD releases. Or in plain English: Activision would like to sell old games a second time between new releases...

The leak also lists some titles that are apparently already on the remaster list. According to Ralph, World at War, Call of Duty 1 and Call of Duty 2 are planned as the next remasters. The already available Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remaster should also be backward compatible and come to the switch.
Addressing the confusion, MWR is supposedly coming to Nintendo Switch, it's first introductory into the Call of Duty franchise for the console.

Can We Trust The Leak?
Well, good question... But we think so, because the leak isn't really that much of a surprise. After all, we already received remasters for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 in recent years - even if only the campaign was included in the remaster of MW2. With that in mind, it seems quite possible that Activision is planning to revive other old titles in the franchise. It's far more likely to be World at War than CoD 1 or CoD 2, though.
Whether Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered will really come to the switch remains to be seen... More remasters of old CoDs yes, but CoD on the Switch, I don't know. Microsoft has already announced that they are interested in bringing more games to the Switch, but whether they will succeed with CoD is rather questionable.
As soon as we have more information about these Call of Duty Remasters, we will of course be the first to let you know. Until then, here we have all the details on the latest Season Update in Vanguard and Warzone.
