News of MW2 was basically all hearsay and rumours until June 8, then we receivedModern Warfare 2's official reveal. Since then, new information has literally been flooding in. But what is it that most fans want to know? It is, of course, the release date for Warzone 2. Which is understandable given that this is the biggest product Call of Duty offers nowadays. In this article we'll address that question, and give you a brief overview of when you can expect from Warzone 2, and which platforms it's going to launch on.

Will Modern Warfare 2 Come With Warzone 2?

No, Modern Warfare 2 will not be released with Warzone 2, instead Warzone 2 will be released approximately 5-6 weeks later in early December 2022. This is still pretty great news, given that we thought it might come as late as 2023. It thus makes sense for Call of Duty as Warzone 2 will alone boost the sales of MW2 immensely, so they don't want to delay the game's release.

Will Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2 be Cross-Gen?

Yes, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will be cross-gen, meaning that they will both release on PS4 and Xbox One, in addition to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. We know this because the pre-orders are already available and there's a version you can buy for the older generation of consoles.
