Community was one of the best sitcoms of the 21st Century... until Season 4. Then Pierce and Troy left, and things went downhill (only the most dedicated/masochistic fans were still watching for the Yahoo-produced finale). But, as fans of the show will still remind you, Community was always destined to have "six seasons and a movie". So, where's the movie?

Community Movie: Release Window
The Community movie does not have a release date yet, but it does already have a script and a few confirmed actors. Based on the filming schedule (discussed below) we expect a 2025 release date for the Community movie. That might seem like a long time, but it will still be here before the GTA 6 release.
Community Movie: How Far Along In Production Is The Film?
Based on a recent interview that Joel McHale gave to Variety, we know that the script is written, and filming was going to begin in the Summer of 2023, but sadly the writer's strike has delayed the process:
We had a shooting date coming up, which was going to be in the summer. And I think they were extremely close to — I mean, Dan is somebody that tweaks things but, obviously, that’s all stopped. But I think it was pretty darn close. It was close, the shoot date was coming up and we were all excited to do it and then the writers strike happened, which obviously put everything on hold, and rightfully so.
But if a shooting date had already been set, then we do at least know the Community movie will happen, even if it takes a few years. Fantastic news.
