Liam Neeson has now publically given the green-light to Disney; he wants to return to the role of Qui-Gon Jinn. Here's what he had to say.

The prequels were ripped apart when they were first released. The Phantom Menace, for instance, was described by Variety's Todd McCarthy as "neither captivating nor transporting, for it lacks any emotional pull". Most other contemporary reviews shared that same perspective. And with the second and third prequel films, critics only got harsher. And yet, since then, the prequel's have been blessed by a resurgence of popularity.

Are younger audiences simply fans of r/prequelmemes, or do they actually enjoy these films? Surely Disney intends to find out, and if they do, Liam Neeson has declared he's on-board as well.

Liam Neeson Happy To Revive Qui-Gon Jinn

In an interview with comicbook.com, Liam Neeson responded positively when asked whether he would play the role of Qui-Gon Jinn. Well, to be exact, he said that he would play Qui-Gon again if it were for the big-screen and not a miniseries:

Oh, I think so, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so... if it was a film. Yeah, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to TV, I must admit. I just like the big screen.

We don't share the same attitude as Neeson. The recent Star Wars shows have demonstrated what a capable medium TV can be for that universe. But each to their own.

So who knows, maybe in the next few years we'll get a feature length film that gives us some more insight into Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. Until then, why not enjoy the next best thing, the upcoming Star Wars game!
