The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a long-running saga of great movies and shows. What can you expect from the MCU in 2022, though? Well, here are all the Marvel Movies out this year...
Ever since Iron Man launched Phase 1 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008, we have been subjected to an endless torrent of Marvel films, both good and bad. From the depths of The Incredible Hulk and the first two Thor movies, to the heights of Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy, they never seem to let-up, providing us with an endless amount of superhero content both in film form and as television shows.
Now, it looks like Marvel has pretty much entirely been removed from Netflix, with MCU movies and television programs now routinely coming to Disney+ rather than to Netflix. It's very exciting, of course, that all of our Marvel content will be in the same place, but that doesn't mean that it's all unicorns and rainbows. After all, it actually is possible to have too much of a good thing, and when you look at the complete list of every single Marvel films and Television Show in 2022, the evidence will attest to that.
Honestly, a lot of these projects are completely unnecessary. Who the hell needs a new Antman movie, is that really something that people want? Do we really need like twenty-seven forking Marvel shows? It that really something we need? Surely, the blokes over at Disney could get a little bit more creative than endlessly regurgitating Marvel content like it's a drug that their fans are rabidly addicted to. We can't blame them, though. After all, you're totally going to see the new Thor, aren't you?
Marvel Movies 2022: Release Dates, Plot & More
There are four Marvel Movies confirmed for 2022 and two of them have already come to cinemas. Now, that might not sound like a lot, but think about it this way: that means a Marvel movie literally every three months. That is, well, a darn-well lot of content! Let's be real, though, these movies are going to do incredibly well. Here are the four Marvel movies due out this year:

So, what do we have here? Well, we have a clear follow-up to last year's Spider-Man: No Way Home, which heavily featured good ol' Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has pretty average reviews, with very few people singing its praises but equally few complaining incessantly about it.
Thor: Love and Thunder is a follow-up to Taika Waititi's 2017 hit Thor: Ragnarok, and well, it didn't live up to the expectations, set by its prequel. Then we have Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which will be the first Black Panther movie since Chadwick Boseman's untimely passing. We are curious to see what they will do with this one, as they will need to honor Boseman's memory whilst forging a new direction for Black Panther. Finally, we have the new Guardians movie. Is there really anything to say about this?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 6, 2022)
Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has already proven itself at the box office, earning close to a billion bucks since it debuted in early May. It might not be a critical darling, though, with a Metacritic score of 6/10 and a user score of 6.1/10. That being said, it's not a terrible movie. In Cumberbatch's latest foray as Doctor Strange, we see him bring his awful American accent to new heights. The movie features, of course, a multiverse theme (because every forking movie has to these days) and a threat that, of course, is beyond anything they have experienced before. Well, kind-of. Not really, to be honest...
Thor: Love and Thunder (July 8, 2022)
Hey, look, it's another Thor movie! Isn't that exciting? Natalie Portman is returning as Thor... sorry, Jane Foster, and Taika Waititi is returning as director. And while that movie made me care about a love story that hasn't been relevant, even in the first Thor movie, it failed to deliver for me. Thor: Ragnarok was a fresh breath of air, that already got stale with Love and Thunder. Christian Bale performed great, like he always does, but a lot of the jokes don't land, and the plot is kinda meh. So yeah, the quality of Marvel movies seems to be in steady decline.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (November 11, 2022)
The second Black Panther is an interesting one, seeing as the actor behind its titular character passed away from cancer in 2020. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had a difficult task on its hands, as it needs to honor the legacy of Chadwick Boseman whilst forging a new direction for the Black Panther brand, and also making a good movie. Now that the movie is out, we are glad to see, that they managed to achieve this difficult task. The movie does a great job addressing the gaping hole, that T'Challa and Boseman left behind. The movie embodies the phrase "I'm not crying you're crying" perfectly and also manages to establish Shuri as a great successor to the Black Panther. The only thing in the movie that kinda doesn't work for me is the enemy civilization. In the beginning, they're menacing, but I just didn't buy into the idea of them being technologically advanced enough to compete with Wakanda. And so they start to feel like less of a threat the more you get to know about them. Also, why add so many unnecessary side characters? The movie could have been half the screen-time if they focused on the important bits. But all in all, the movie was pretty great and Namor was a pretty good villain, so yeah it's a solid MCU movie. Better than Thor Love and Thunder at least.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (Late / Holiday, 2022)
What's something that none of us need, but all of us want? A Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special. Well, guess what? We're in luck because that's exactly what we're getting in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, due for release probably in December 2022. We know we're being a bit cheeky because this isn't a movie technically, it's a TV special, but it will be feature-length.
So, there you all have it: every single Marvel Movie coming in 2022. Are you starting to feel a bit tired of all these Marvel movies, are you ready for something a little different, something that's a little more interesting? This year's selection is actually pretty varied. Doctor Strange is a little boring, a bit more of the same, but we have a few wild-cards this year with the new Black Panther and a Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special. On top of that, we've got Thor: Love and Thunder as well. If you are in the mood for something a little different, though, here are some suggestions...
