Armored Core 6 is the newest addition to the popular mech franchise and it's now finally out. Now, fans all around the world are asking if the game will have a multiplayer or co-op mode to share their gaming experience with friends.

Armored Core 6 Multiplayer Explained

Flying around the battlefield or stomping your opponents in massive mechs and robots sounds like a fun thing to do, right? The only way this could get better is doing it with a friend or a group of mates. So, for everybody who wants exactly this, there is some good news... at least in some ways.

Armored Core 6 has a multiplayer mode, but it's only PvP. Unfortunately, the game lacks a co-op mode. In AC6's multiplayer matches, players can engage in 1v1 or 3v3 battles against each other. Most features from the regular single-player mode are also available here. You can freely customize your mech and utilize Assault Boosts to stagger your opponents, but healing is not possible.

In the modes we've seen so far, each mech has only one life, and healing is disabled. At the end of the match timer, the team with more remaining hit points on their mechs or the team with more surviving players on the field wins.

In a recent livestream from Bandai Namco, a showmatch between the two content creators “Oroboro” and “FightinCowboy” showed what the player vs. player mode looked like. Check it out:

How To Unlock Multiplayer in Armored Core 6

Multiplayer isn't available from the beginning in Armored Core 6, you'll need to unlock it first before you can go into PvP fights against other mechs. Thankfully, it's not too complicated to do so: you just need to finish Chapter 2 to unlock "Nest", the game's multiplayer mode.

Finish the last mission of Chapter 2 and you'll get a message, saying "Access Granted: NEST". Don't be confused: this is literally just the multiplayer mode. I have no idea why it's called "Nest", I guess FromSoftware need to obfuscate their multiplayer modes somehow.
