Assassin's Creed Mirage will go back to series roots and only feature one big city, instead of an big open world. Ubisoft now revealed more details on Baghdad, the setting of Mirage.
We are pretty excited for Assassin's Creed Mirage, mainly because it promises to be a bit of a reset for the series. Instead of an endlessly wide world, players will get to explore one big city, just like in the old games. The setting of Baghdad is also fresh, exciting and promising. Now we thankfully know a bit more about the world of Mirage and the setting of Baghdad, as Ubisoft have revealed more details about the city and how it will be realised in the game.
What You Will Do In AC Mirage's Baghdad
As mentioned, Baghdad will be the sole city in Mirage. It will be split into five different areas, that the players will be able to visit freely from an early point in the game:
- Karkh: The industrial part of the city, which includes the bazaar.
- The Round City: The core of Baghdad and the richest area in the city. This part includes the grand palace of the reigning Caliphate.
- Science District: Includes universities and libraries, like the so-called House of Wisdom.
- Trade District: A part of town, that is focused on trade and commerce.
- Military District: The military controls this part of Baghdad.
Baghdad is supposed to be about as big as Constantinople in AC Revelations. Unfortunately, we don't know a ton more about each district and the setting, but the split into different areas sounds like a great idea to bring variety to the city's design. Variety also promises the wilderness around Baghdad, which will also be available in Mirage. Unfortunately, it looks like we won't be able to travel to Alamut, the famous headquarters of the Assassins. However, it is supposed to play a role in the story of the game.

So, what will we be able to do in AC Mirage? Ubisoft has revealed a number of different activities that players will be able to engage in withing the open world of the game. It has been confirmed, that there will be different types of collectables and so-called world events. What exactly they will look like, is unclear yet, however. It also looks like players will also be able to complete assassination contracts.
