Assassin's Creed in VR? Sounds like nausea waiting to happen...
A couple weeks ago, the entire beta build of Assassin's Creed Nexus leaked - the upcoming Assassin's Creed VR game. Yes, while we're all busy waiting for the upcoming live-service game Assassin's Creed Infinity, Ubisoft has been busy crafting a title of everyone's favorite assassin franchise for VR devices. Now, the main menu, and mission selection screen has been leaked by an insider on Reddit:
Assassin's Creed Nexus, set to release in the coming 12 months, leaked a couple of weeks ago from GamingLeaksAndRumours
The leaker claims to have played the game, so there are several tidbits of inside information contained within this leak. Of course, be wary, with your salt pinches ready, but since the whole beta build was already leaked a while back, this leak seems legit.
Assassin's Creed Nexus Details
In terms of arsenal, we seem to be getting an assassin's usual loadout: Sword, hidden blade, throwing knife, smoke bombs, crossbow... the standard set. In terms of combat, this Assassin's Creed will take a new approach - naturally, since this is a VR game. To defeat enemies, you have to wait until they lower their guard, and then strike fast. Honestly... that sounds super lame.
As is the case with most VR games, the mission design is linear, though the missions are fairly big and do feature backtracking. I'll let you decide whether that's a good thing or not, but my 2 cents: I hate that.
Movement-wise, parkour is the name of the game, and you hold down the A button to climb. Truth be told, it doesn't sound like a VR-gaming revolution, but, luckily, we have Metal Gear Solid VR for that.
