Is Starfield Coming To PC?

Starfield is an upcoming RPG from Bethesda that's centered around exploration. But do you have what it takes to download and play this game on the PC? Let's find out.

When Microsoft purchased Bethesda for $7.5 billion, I had guessed that Starfield would become an exclusive title for the Xbox Series S/X and PC. You can imagine my delight when Microsoft confirmed they’d be launching Starfield as an exclusive property to the Xbox/PC family. However, there are still a lot of questions about this upcoming game. Why haven’t we gotten another trailer since the original one? Especially when Starfield is supposed to launch this year? It makes us wonder if Bethesda will announce an unexpected delay for their upcoming science-fiction RPG. Prayer circle that that isn’t the case, and that Bethesda will announce more about Starfield very soon.

Now, I know the majority of you are looking for information on the PC version of Starfield. Well, you’ll be surprised to learn that there's plenty to talk about for that one. For instance, Bethesda will allow Starfield to be modded. I’m fully expecting someone to add lightsabers and blasters into this game. If they don’t, I’d be downright surprised.

But what else can we tell you about the PC version of Starfield? Let’s find out.

When Is Starfield Coming To The PC?

Here’s where things start getting good, Starfield is being launched through the Xbox Marketplace and Steam. There isn’t an official listing price for now, but the release date has been confirmed. We will be getting our hands on Starfield by November 11th, 2022.

Which PC Features Will Starfield Have?

It’s been widely speculated that modding will be supported with Bethesda’s Starfield. It would guarantee that Starfield would have a lifespan of ten years or longer, just like Skyrim. We would be capable of improving the game’s graphics, adding new features, downloading new weapons, acquiring new missions, and so much more.

The PC version of Starfield will be identical to its Xbox counterpart. You can expect the same environments, weapons, and features throughout both of these games, so things will only change when modders start releasing their downloads for free. Until then, what can we expect from these environments? There’s a location that focuses on sexual pleasure, and another that’s named New Atlantis.

These environments will be controlled by various factions, with the main faction being called the Constellation. I’m guessing they don’t have control over the City of Neon, as the Constellation faction looks to stand with the best of humanity. Who will control the darker regions of this universe? That’s what I want to know.

Outside the standard gameplay that Bethesda is known for, CEO Todd Howard confirmed that discussions were held with SpaceX for research purposes. These discussions should lead towards an added sense of realism and immersion within Starfield, so I’m pretty excited to say the least.

Otherwise, Bethesda hasn’t diverted that far from Skyrim with Starfield. Apparently, both of these games are identical in terms of exploration and gameplay, but this game looks more like an advanced version of Fallout. Honestly, I’m curious if there will be any hidden connections between Starfield and Bethesda’s past franchises. It would be awesome to know that humanity escaped the horrific environments of a post-apocalyptic earth.

Is Starfield Coming To The Steam Deck?

Technically speaking, Starfield is supported on the Steam Deck. That’s because Bethesda and Microsoft have listed their upcoming science-fiction game on the Steam Store. So anyone could download Starfield onto this mobile console, but there would be an associated risk of overheating.

I’d recommend waiting until Starfield has become a verified game on the Steam Deck, then we can have the confidence needed to install this title without having to worry about overheating. Wouldn’t that be great?

Game Trailer

Don’t worry, Bethesda has provided us with an announcement trailer for Starfield. It showcases gameplay footage from the alpha build of this game, which is being developed on the 2nd Creation Engine. What we learned from this footage was that Starfield focuses on a female astronaut that’s travelling the cosmos for unknown reasons. Unfortunately, we don't know what this woman’s motive is to become an astronaut. We won’t know further details into her character until November 11th, 2022.

Game System Requirements

The 2nd Creation Engine was developed for Starfield, as Bethesda wanted their development engine to maintain stronger graphics for this game. I’m expecting that Starfield will require most PC players to upgrade their computers.
