Phantom Liberty will be Cyberpunk 2077's first and last DLC, however, it will be gigantic! It is a very legitimate question whether you can call the whole thing “just” a DLC, since it adds a whole bunch of new content to the game! Check out the new Night City district's features right here!
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty's release has been in everyone’s mouths during the last two weeks. All we knew, is that this huge DLC is supposed to be coming before the end of this summer, which is quite unimaginable!

However, CD Projekt Red is prooving us wrong, since they now confirmed said release with an exact date and even more information around the upcoming DLC! Dogtown, here we come!

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Will Completely Change The Game
As already mentioned earlier, the upcoming expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 will include so much more changes than what we normally have in a DLC. The most exciting part about is, that said new feature will not only be available in the content added within the DLC. Meaning, replaying the story from scratch will be a whole new experience, since all the core elements will be reworked.

And we have good news regarding the DLC's debut! Phantom Liberty is set to be released on September 26, 2023, which is a bit more than around three months from now on!

Phantom Liberty Invites Us To Dogtown
Phantom Liberty is coming at us with a completely new area for us to explore called Dogtown. It is a district of Night City, which belongs to the Pacifica district.
Dogtown is a quite interesting area! It certainly has a post-apocalyptic feel to it and is just the perfect addition to Night City with all these neon lights and sings. However, rather than a district of the existing city, it is more or less an independent state, and a pretty lawless one to say the least!
Sounds like the perfect setting for a new story, doesn’t it?
In Phantom Liberty, your task is pretty simple: rescue the president of the New United States of America. To be fair, that is quite an operation and basically requires you to become the best spy known to mankind. Since we can't handle this massive task on our own, one of the new characters will help us out!
Said new character will probably be the star of the whole expansion and is called Solomon Reed. He is a very well-trained special agent and I wouldn’t recommend playing unfair games with him.
Agent Reed is confident and calculating, which makes up for the perfect teacher in spying affairs. Unfortunately, we don't know much about the mysterious man, and we will have to find out about his true motives during the game itself.
Old Game Mechanics Are Getting A Makeover
Next to many new story related elements, there will be a bunch of changes and updated regarding older game mechanics.
Probably the most important ones, are the reworked perks and skill trees! Both elements will be completely rebuild and in addition, we will get an entire new category called “Vehicle Combat” as well.

Next up, most enemies will undergo major changes. Including new enemy archetypes, who will hunt you down, the police system will be entirely redone as well, which will change the overall feel of the game quite a bit. Along with reworked enemies, there will also be new drops and different drop rates as it was within the base game.
As said earlier, all changes will be active for the base game as well, after purchasing the DLC! Means, you will have an almost entire new game at hand!
Despite the rough release of Cyberpunk 2077 some years ago, the new DLC look incredibly promising and is definitely worth a try for fans of the base game! We will keep you up-to-date with further information on the game!
