Dune was one of the best movies of the year, and seems destined for video game greatness... if done right. Now, it seems like it will be done right.
Alright, this one is huge: Dune is getting a game by the makers of Conan Exiles. Yes, we rumored as much, and, yes, perfect matches do exist.
Conan Exiles Devs Are Working on a Dune Game
Just like Conan Exiles, the game will be an open-world survival game, and I wouldn't want it any other way. If you're not familiar with Conan Exiles, here's the skinny: Barren lands, harsh climate, harsher creatures, and you're out there just trying to build and survive. And if that doesn't help you...: It's Valheim minus the viking sh*t. There. You're welcome.
I don't know if you've seen Dune, but... you must. Yes, must, not even have to, because I want to make you understand how imperative it is that you see that movie. Aside from being a cinematic masterpiece, Dune is a world that begs to be explored. I mean, the books influenced Star Wars, so it should come as no surprise that author Frank Herbert crafted some good sh*t. Now, thanks to the movie, the Dune universe is getting the attention it deserves, and it seems like we are finally getting the Dune game we deserve.
So here's what we know: NUKKLEAR (terrible name, btw) and Funcom are collaborating on this one, aaaaand... that's all we know. No, wait, actually, we have artwork. Look:
Now that's it. Literally. We know it's coming, we know it's open-world and survival, we know the devs, and we have that mood shot up there. So, for now, all you can do is sit pretty, watch Dune, and dream about the movie's score being in the game, because it's that good.
