Spirit ashes make a lot of Elden Ring bosses significantly easier. Today we will show you how to find the Mimic Tear Ashes in Elden Ring, which many player consider the most powerful ash in the game.
Elden Ring is the best game in the world! At least that's not just my opinion, many other people feel similarly enthusiastic about it. But like pretty much every From Software game, Elden Ring is not an easy game for your lazy afternoons. If you want to succeed here, you need to be able to handle frustration, farm runes to level up, and of course practice, practice, practice.
Fortunately, there are a few things that can make the game a bit easier for you and more or less activate the "Easy Mode". These include not only wickedly powerful weapons and skills like the Moonveil Katana or the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War, but also the Ashes, which are new in Elden Ring.
Ashes in Elden Ring Explained
Ashes are summonable creatures that assist you in battle. Ashes can be found anywhere in the game. They appear in chests, are dropped by normal enemies or even bosses. Very early in the game, you can buy the Spirit Calling Bell from a merchant or get it from a specific NPC. You can then use the item to summon the ashes.
Once found, ashes can be equipped like weapons, spells, etc. and can also be upgraded from the NPC Roderika in Roundtable Hold. To summon an ash, you must be in an area where it is allowed. This is indicated by a small glowing icon in the form of a gate on the left side of the screen. However, you can assume that ashes can be summoned in almost any area with enemies and bosses – with a few exceptions.
How To Get The Mimic Tear Ashes In Elden Ring
Below we list the most important steps needed to find the Mimic Tear Ashes. Of course, there is also a pretty precise route description for those who want to make the game a little easier. If you have already explored the underground city of Nokron, you can jump directly to the last point "Find the chest with the Mimic Tear Ashes".
Nota: Para obtener la Ceniza Mimética, necesitarás una Llave de Espada de Piedra, así que asegúrate de tener una en tu inventario antes de salir.
Beat Starscourge Radahn
Before you can go and get the Mimic Tear Ashes, you'll need to take down the boss Starscourge Radahn in Caelid. Depending on what build you're rocking in Elden Ring, this can be a pretty intense boss fight (I've been stuck there forever...). We recommend you try the fight without multiplayer support first, as your trusty steed Torrent is an incredible help there, and it can't be used in multiplayer. Instead, use the numerous NPC summons in the boss arena to help you with the fight.
Descend Into The Meteor Crater
When you defeat Radahn, a huge meteor hits Limgrave, leaving a huge hole in the ground. Travel to the Site of Grace called "Fort Haight West" and ride northwest. You absolutely cannot miss the crater, it's huge and there are rocks floating above it. Climb deeper into the crater – you'll find some floating platforms that you can jump down with. Keep working your way down until you reach the underground.
Beat The Mimic Tear Boss
When you arrive underground, you'll find the Site of Grace called "Nokron, the Eternal City". Just follow the path here until you reach a large gate after a bridge. Behind this gate, a boss fight against the Mimic Tear awaits you. The boss will copy your character exactly, i.e. use the same weapons, spells, everything. However, there is a simple trick to defeat him quickly: Before you start the boss fight, take off all your equipment and wait until the boss starts to materialize from the silver puddle. Now quickly put your gear back on, and you'll be fighting a naked boss with no armor or weapons while you're in full gear.
Go To The Ancestral Woods
After the boss fight, simply ride along the long bridge to the north until you see a broken-in spot on your left, which you can use to get down. If you don't want to deal with enemies, you should always keep to the left edge and just keep riding until you find a gap in the rocks on your left, where the Site of Grace "Ancestral Woods" is located. On this screenshot you can see the way there and how to go on from there:
Find The Chest With The Mimic Tear Ashes
If you have already unlocked the "Ancestral Woods" Site of Grace, you can continue from here. From the Site of Grace, jump onto the roof below you and drop onto the small ledge at the end of the roof. Follow the ledge to the right and jump onto the balcony next to you. Afterwards, jump onto the small round roof in front of you and further onto the area in front of you. Fight the two enemies here or just run past them. Follow the narrow alley to the left and drop onto the broken wall in front of you.
Cross the wall and jump through the window. You will see a large altar in front of you. Don't drop down into the room with the big ball, but go past the altar into the passage. At the end of the passage you will find a wall of mist that can be opened with a stone sword key. Kill the enemy in the room and open the chest. Inside the chest you will find the Mimic Tear Ashes. Congratulations! Here we have the path from the Ancestral Forest to the chest again as a short video:
Why Is The Mimic Tear So Good?
The Mimic Tear Ashes copy your character, including equipment and abilities. When you summon the spirit, it appears with your armor, weapons, and spells, and also uses all of your abilities in combat – including your weapons' skill. In addition, the Mimic Tear also heals itself, which makes it extremely powerful. On top of that, when you summon the Spirit, you don't use up FP, you use up health.
Calling the Mimic Tear costs you 660 HP, which makes this ash great for players who don't have many level ups invested in the Mind attribute and can't use other ashes that consume FP at all. So if you do a pure Strength build, for example, you can still use the Mimic Tear – just don't forget to heal the lost HP right after calling the spirit!
