1 Year After Release: Elden Ring Reaches Big Milestone In Sales

FromSoftware recently put out a press release to celebrate a new milestone for Elden Ring: over 20 million units sold. This is obviously great news for the studio, but it's also good news for fans of single-player games in general.

Elden Ring is an incredible RPG, and was rightly voted GotY by pretty much everyone last year. And it wasn't just a critical success, as this recent news confirms, it was a huge commercial hit as well. Hence, Elden Ring DLC is on the way.

Elden Ring Passes 20 Million Units Sold

In a brief press release, FromSoftware announced that Elden Ring had sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. This makes Elden Ring the most successful FromSoftware game of all time. The runner-up, Dark Souls III, has "only" sold 11 million units.

Here was the short message from the studio:

Combining the development capabilities of FromSoftware and the marketing power of Bandai Namco Entertainment's overseas network, this title has been supported by fans since its release on February 25, 2022, and has shipped more than 20 million units worldwide to date. It has also received various awards, including "Game of the Year" at "The Game Awards 2022." The companies would like to thank everyone who has played this game from the bottom of their hearts, and will continue to develop various ways for the fans to enjoy the world of "ELDEN RING" in the future.

Congratulations to FromSoftware, it's an excellent game.

If you're going to get Elden Ring, and we highly advise you do (here's our review), then don't forget to check out this Hogwarts Legacy mod we recently saw.

It probably won't take long for this game to do the same:
