Final Fantasy 14 Online: Confirmed New Features
As the development team is putting all their attention into the upcoming expansion "Dawntrail" and the graphic update, Yoshida has confirmed additional features will be introduced after the expansion is released in summer 2024.
These are the confirmed features:
- New character customization options
- Visible headgear for Hrothgar and Viera
- More inventory space and Glamour Plates
- New housing exteriors
- Field content like Ereka and Bozja
While some may see these as small features, the community has been eagerly anticipating the addition of visible headgear for these races. The male Hrothgar and female Viera were introduced in the Shadowbringers expansion, but many headgears didn't display correctly on them, making most glamours unusable for the players.
After nearly five years of patient waiting, the community is finally getting this much-desired feature. Beyond the cosmetic upgrade, you'll also get much appreciated additional inventory space, new field content, housing exteriors, and more character customization.
This news is especially welcome considering Yoshida's commitment to keeping Final Fantasy 14 Online thriving for at least another decade, with three more expansions planned before he turns 60 (he'll be 51 when Dawntrails is released).
