Nintendo hosted a new Nintendo Direct on February 8. And this spelled great news for all Zelda fans who can't wait for the release of Tears of the Kingdom, as we were set to finally see more of the game ahead of its release in May.

Thankfully, Nintendo obliged and delivered a new trailer, finally showing off a bit more from the game.

One thing has to be made clear: the new trailer can't hold a candle to the legendary Breath of the Wild trailer from 2017. But what can? It's slightly disappointing in that sense, but it still got me mad hyped.

It's super fast paced and shows off quite a lot in only two minutes. The most apparent thing is the darker atmosphere in comparison to BOTW, which gives us strong Majora vibes. Ganon is (of course) back, as a creepy reanimated corpse thing? And he sounds MEAN.

Tears of the Kingdom is not the only game we're hyped for this year:

We also see a lot of the new gameplay elements that will come to the game. Yes, a lot of what we see here is reminiscent of BOTW. But short glimpses of rail grinding, vehicles (which are potentially craftable), including a bloody HOVERCRAFT, new areas in the sky and more do manage to get me really hyped for this game.

TOTK is potentially the swansong of the Nintendo Switch. We expect something big, something exciting, something that can hopefully rival the genius of Breath of the Wild. Let's hope the game can deliver.
