In a Streamily interview, Christopher Judge shared his thoughts on God of War, the previous Kratos voice actor Terrence C. Carson, and the potential of him voicing young Kratos.
Before Christopher Judge became the voice of the mighty Kratos in the Norse era, Terrence C. Carson voiced the younger version of Kratos in the Greek era.
Christopher Judge stepped into the role of Kratos in the PlayStation 4 reboot of God of War because Carson wasn't tall enough for the motion-capture. Additionally, Judge's chemistry with Sunny Suljic, who portrays Kratos' son Atreus, played a significant role in the casting decision.
For those hoping for a crossover between the two worlds, the latest free DLC for God of War Ragnarök, titled "Valhalla," hinted some potential to a certain degree. However, it raises the question whether Judge would ever consider reprising the role of the classic Kratos and lending his voice to the character once again.
In a recent interview, Judge provided a straightforward and understandable reason why he won't voice the young Kratos.
God of War: Judge Has Too Much Respect For Carson
During a stream for "Streamily" where Christopher Judge was a part of, he got asked whether or not he'd consider voicing young Kratos. And his answer was pretty clear and straightforward no. He has too much respect left for TC Carson this way, he won't ever voice young Kratos.
TC is so extraordinary, even if they had asked, I would've said no. I was actually offered something not too long ago and I had to turn it down because they wanted me to somewhat match the voice of that character and I sad "Absolutley not". I love this dude, that would be such a slight...
It's uncertain whether Judge's mention of an offer was for the Valhalla DLC or the rumored God of War Trilogy Remaster. What we do know is that there's a good chance we'll see more of Kratos in the future. However, it's unclear if Christopher Judge will be a part of it.
