Rumours Of Gran Turismo 7 Delay Put To Bed | Release Date Confirmed

You'll remember that early this week, we heard unfortunate delay rumors regarding Gran Turismo 7. That was a hammerblow because it would have been the second delay for this highly anticipated game, and fans were rightly working themselves up into a fervor. Luckily, we have good news for you today. We now know the real reason behind the controversy that caused those initial rumors, and we've been able to confirm the release date. So strap in, Gran Turismo fans, and let's get into what happened behind the scenes.

What caused the Gran Turismo 7 delay rumors?

A media event for Gran Turismo 7 was supposed to take place on January 25, but instead it was delayed until an unspecified date because Kazunori Yamauchi (the lead designer) was unavailable for personal reasons. We didn't know that last part until our favorite leaker Tom Henderson let the cat out of the bag:

And it's a good job he did, because people were assuming it was a Last of Us 2 situation. As you'll remember, a media event was cancelled for TLOU 2 shortly before a significant delay was announced. But no, we can wipe our brows. Gran Turismo 7 is safe.

When will Gran Turismo 7 be released?

Gran Turismo 7 will be released on March 4, 2022. And that's absolutely fantastic news because based on everything we've seen about this game it's worth getting hyped for. But please don't hold us to that, if Cyberpunk taught us anything it's that we need to wait until the full release to make any final assessments in this industry...
