The newly announced Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition will reportedly cost around $70 USD, according to to a recent retailer leak. This new GTA remake will include remastered versions of GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas, all of which originally came out on the PlayStation 2.
How Much Does GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition Cost?
The GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy will cost $60 USD on last-gen consoles, and $70 on new-gen consoles, according to the leak. Video game retailer RetailerBase.com reportedly priced the new remastered trilogy at the above listed prices on their website.
The leak, originally reported on by @Vinewood_motors on Twitter, represents one of the first times that the highly controversial new video game pricing system has come into place. We would place the leak below, but it was removed from Twitter before publication. We are not sure, at this stage, why it was removed, but we would warrant a guess that it could have been the result of a copyright strike.
So @base_com have (kinda) removed the price of GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition from their website and you're now unable to pre-order from them. pic.twitter.com/KM9tTnIBNL

If the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition price is correct, then it would be Rockstar's first game release since Take Two's CEO claimed that consumers were ready for games to cost $70 USD. Take Two is Rockstar Games' parent company.
There has been a lot of backlash against increasing the price of video games, but in our opinion, it seems like a reasonable amount. As inflation increases, the price of goods generally increase, and video games have not really seen a substantial price increase since the mid-2000s. It's only natural, and only a matter of time, until this new pricing model becomes universal.
As for GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, the title of the game might be a bit long-winded, but the collection will include three fantastic Grand Theft Auto games, assumedly upgraded to current-gen standards (though little is known so-far about the nature of these upgrades). A price of $60-70 USD seems perfectly reasonable...
