Once more, leakers are suggesting that a ton of new Halo Infinite maps are in development over at 343 Industries.
We have reported on potential new Halo Infinite maps time and time again at this point. Only last week the game's first Mid-Season Update dropped, failing to deliver what we all wanted: maps. You see, Halo Infinite's Multiplayer is solid, it's fun, and it's incredibly entertaining. There really is little to complain about except for a few lagging issues like over-priced cosmetics and – as we just mentioned – a lack of new content coming to the game.
The game launched back in December 2021 with 10 fantastic maps, all of which brought something good to the table. They were polished, well designed, and the perfect sandboxes to play with the multitude of weapons, both new and old, that graced Infinite at launch. We really loved playing the game over these last few months, and have an especial love of Behemoth, so the idea of new maps gives us a lot of happiness. There's just one problem...
Despite the leaks, which suggested back in January that five new Maps were coming, we have still received nothing and heard nothing from 343 Industries. After all, the aforementioned mid-season update would have been the perfect opportunity to release a couple of them, but it seems that we are out of luck. At the same time it looks like it will be months until we see any kind of campaign co-op or a Forge mode in the game. What are we supposed to do in the meantime, play the weekly challenges again and again? Come on, 343...
At Least 10 New Maps In Development For Halo Infinite
Leaks suggest that a minimum of ten new maps are in development for Halo Infinite. The leak, sourced from @HaloHubGG on Twitter, stated that these maps are in "various stages of development" and assured us that more information was coming soon. We are a little uncertain about this leak, and the information has certainly not been verified by Halo Infinite's developers 343 Industries. That being said, here's what HaloHub had to say:
New Maps? A while back, before the launch of the beta, data miners found a list of twenty plus maps for #Halo #HaloInfinite. We can confirm that we know of atleast another ten maps in the pipeline for the game in various stages of development. More info to follow soon! — @HaloHubGG via Twitter on Feb 20, 2022
As more Seasons roll around the bend, we can certainly expect new maps. With Season 2 due to come out in May sometime, it is a big shame and a big surprise that 343 Industries decided not to at least give us a little something for sticking with them until the Mid-Season Update. That being said, we can be pretty sure that Halo Infinite will continue to be supported pretty solidly over the coming months. After all, the Fracture: Tenrai Event was rad, the maps that are here are awesome, and the fixes that came with the latest update were substantial.
So instead of sitting around mourning the lack of new content in recent weeks, we would recommend diving into the Campaign and attempting a LASO Playthrough. If you can't do that, then you probably haven't collected all of the game's Skulls, something that you can also spend time doing. Halo Infinite's two modes are incredibly substantial, fun, and worth your time and commitment. Don't give up just yet, 343 Industries are only just getting started...
