Hogwarts Legacy DLC has been discussed by developer Avalanche Software during a new interview, where they revealed their current plans for new content coming to the game.
Hogwarts Legacy is an insanely good game with long-term potential, as you can read about in our review. But people always want more, so fans have started to loudly wonder about DLC. However, we need to put a small downer on any potential excitement... for now.
Hogwarts Legacy DLC: No Concrete Plans For Now
The developers clarified that they currently don't have any plans for DLC. In a recent interview with IGN, Game Director Alan Tew stated that the development team has been focused on bringing Hogwarts to life and hasn't had the time to consider DLCs for Hogwarts Legacy. As such, there are currently no concrete plans for expanding the game.
“We’ve been really heads down bringing Hogwarts Legacy to life, so at the moment there are no current plans for DLC.”
However, this doesn't necessarily mean that there won't be any DLC in the future. Tew's statement only refers to the current situation, and DLCs for the game could still be a possibility at some point down the line.
Potential Scenarios For DLC
Many players are hoping for a Quidditch DLC as it has been referenced in the game and seems like a natural addition to the magical adventure and the quests in Hogwarts Legacy.
There have also been multiple leaks and rumors about the developers of Hogwarts Legacy being unable to include all the planned areas and features during development. One prominent example of this is Quidditch, as players can visit the Quidditch field but cannot engage in the sport.
Additionally, the open world of the game may have been reduced by 25%, with some areas still present in the game's code but not accessible in-game. While this is not unusual for an open-world game, it could potentially provide an opportunity for developers to make these areas accessible in the future and add new content to them.While awaiting the possibility of official DLCs, players are already able to create their own content through mods, at least on PC. A multiplayer mod is currently in development, and smaller mods adding new clothes or brooms are already available.
