Let's get straight into it!
Honkai Star Rail: Blade – Best Build, Light Cones & Team Comps
Blade is a 5-Star character, who follows the path of The Destruction, which indicates his role as a high-risk and high-reward character. He excels in close combat, possesses powerful self-healing and can deal massive damage. Element wise, Blade will deal Wind damage with his basic attack and his ultimate.
Blade Build: Best Light Cones
At the moment there are just a few good and useable Light Cones for Destruction characters. As for Blade there are just three in particular that stand out. Sadly, two of them are 5-Star Light Cones but we do know where you might get them. Some 3-Star ones might work as well, but not as well as the following one.
5-Star Light Cones
Blade's obvious best choice is probably his signature Light Cone “The Unreachable Side”.
The Unreachable Side
- Increases the wearer's CRIT rate by 18 % and increases their Max HP by 18 %. When the wearer is attacked or consumes their own HP, their DMG increases by 24 % of which the effect is removed after the wearer uses an attack.
Since Blade always consumes his own HP in order to use his Skills or the Ultimate, this Light Cone suits him best.
The second available 5-Star Destruction Light Cone “On the Fall of an Aeon” isn't half bad and suits other DMG dealers as well. But Blade consumes a lot of HP on his own which makes a high HP stat necessary.
On the Fall of an Aeon
- Whenever the wearer attacks, increase their ATK by 8 % in this battle, up to 4 time(s). When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on enemies, the wearer's DMG increases by 12 % for 2 turn(s).
You get this Light Cone from Heart's Store.
4-Star Light Cones
The only 4-Star weapon at the moment scales with ATK and HP restoration after defeat. Blade can patch himself up, but an extra dose of healing isn't too shabby.
Nowhere to Run
- Increases the wearer's ATK by 20 %. Whenever the wearer defeats an enemy, they restore HP equal to 12 % of their ATK.
You get this Light Cone from Nameless Honor.
Blade's Best Relics
To play Blade well and safe you need the 4-piece set effect from "Messenger Traversing Hackerspace" and the 2-piece set effect from "Broken Keel". The second one can probably be switched, but the 4-piece set is mandatory!
Messenger Traversing Hackerspace (4 Set)
- 2-piece: Increases Max HP by 12 %
- 4-piece: When the wearer is hit or has their HP consumed by an ally, their CRIT Rate increases by 8 % for 2 turns and up to 2 stacks.
- 2-piece: Increases the wearer's Effect RES by 10 %. When the wearer's Effect RES is at 50 % or higher, all allies' ATK increases by 8 %.
The alternative 2-set piece effect comes from "Rutilant Arena".
Rutilant Arena
- Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8 %. When the wearer's current CRIT Rate reaches 80 % or higher, the wearer's Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 20 %.
Best Stats for Blade
The right stats are just as critical as the correct set. Prioritize Blade's Relic stats as followed:
- Body – CRIT DMG %
- Boots – HP % / SPD
- Planar Sphere – WIND % / HP %
- Link Rope – HP %
- Sub-stats – CRIT Rate % → HP % → CRIT DMG % → SPD
Blade's Team Comp
Since Blade is a DMG beast, he needs a perfect support backup. We have three setups in mind that might work really well. The perfect and best team comp would be:
Team #1
This line up is fairly expensive, since it involves four 5-Star characters. If you happen to have all of them, it's most likely game over for the enemy. Bronya and Gepard are part of the Standard Banner and there is a good chance, that you already own them!
The next two teams need the following characters:
- Team #2 – Blade (Main DPS), Welt (DPS, CC), Bronya (Support) and Luocha (Healer)
- Team #3 – Blade (Main DPS), Pela (Support), Tingyun (Support), Natasha (Healer)
The second setup is again rather expensive with only 5-star characters. But Luocha could be switched with either Bailu or Natasha. The third setup is more free-to-play friendly, with only 4-star characters on the front (except of Blade).
We wish you the best of luck setting the perfect team for Blade together! We will update this guide with other Light Cones or team setups as we get our hands on Blade!
