Now that Arceus and Darkrai have been made available in Pokémon BDPS, you're asking yourself: how do I get them? Very easily, actually.
It's finally time, my friends. If you've been waiting to catch Arceus and Darkrai in Pokémon BDPS, your time has now come. They've both been made available in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl!
Catching both Pokémon in itself is obviously a challenge (always save before a legendary fight, friends), but to even get there, there are a couple of steps that you need to keep in mind in order for it all to work. That's what this article is for. We'll break down how to catch both Arceus and Darkrai in BDPS.
How To Catch Arceus In Pokémon BDPS?
In order to catch Arceus in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, you need to do the following:
- Buy Pokémon Legends Arceus (if you haven't already)
- Once/If you own the game, you need to play through the main story of Arceus completely
- Complete Pokémon BDPS (meaning complete the main story line, beat the Elite Four and receive the National Dex)
Once all the requirements are met, you can now finally get Arceus:
- Go to your house in Twinleaf Town and up to your bedroom
- Pick up the Azure Flute from your bedroom
- Travel to Mount Coronet and go to Spear Pillar with the Azure Flute
- Battle and catch Arceus
And there you go, you've successfully caught Arceus and are now the strongest trainer in your game. Screw over that guy with the five Magikarps who thinks he can beat you... it'll be fun!

How To Catch Darkrai In Pokémon BDPS?
Despite Darkrai coming with Arceus, catching it is a bit different and requires you to do something else. The only thing that's the same as with Arceus, is that you need to have completed BDPS (meaning completed the main story line, defeated the Elite Four and received the National Dex).
Once that's done, you need to do the following (keep in mind that this event only starts on April 1st, 2022 and will go until May 1st, 2022. In order to get Darkrai, you need to do the following steps in that timeframe!):
- Go into the menu by pressing X and select Mystery Gift
- Select Get via Internet and download the Member Card
- Catch Cresselia on Fullmoon Island (you can do so by saving the Sailor's son in Canalave City)
- Once Cresselia is caught, return to Canalave City and enter the building behind the Pokémon Center
- Talk to the man inside
- You will fall asleep and will wake up on Newmoon Island
- Go to the forest, that's where Darkrai will be waiting for you

Keep the timeframe in which the event can be played in mind, and you'll soon have both Arceus and Darkrai in your team. Nobody will be able to defeat you... not even the guy with the five Magikarps (he's my fav).
