The PlayStation Network makes for panicked players at the moment. Without reason, many PSN accounts have been permanently suspended, locking players out of their digital games. Here's how you can get unbanned again and regain access to your account.
In early December, something akin to a purge happened at PlayStation Network and players reported their accounts being banned without reason. Getting the message "This account is permanently suspended from PlayStation Network due to violations of the PlayStation Network Terms of Service and User Agreement" and being locked out of your account can be quite scary, especially if you have bought games digitally and are now banned from playing them.
Some accounts have been affected by the series of bans without being online for months, so chances are it's an accidental issue. Nevertheless, here's how you can potentially regain access to your account.
How To Get Unbanned From PlayStation Network
"Have you tried turning it on and off again?" The oldest trick in the book seems to have worked for some users, but many others didn't have that much luck. Before contacting costumer service – who will likely only tell you to create a new account – there's another thing you could try.
Just wait.
This seems kind of counter-intuitive as, understandably, the issue at hand is one you'll probably want to resolve as quickly as possible. Currently, it seems like the purge was some sort of mishap at Sony and they are working on restoring unrightfully banned accounts.
So, if you're positive that you did nothing wrong, your account should get unbanned and you'll regain access to your game library soon. Sony hasn't commented on the wave of bans, but is quietly unbanning lots of accounts right now.
If patience isn't your strong suit and you still want to reach out, you can contact the PSN costumer service here.
