As a sequel to Breath of the Wild, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom brings a completely new yet familiar landscape to explore. But maybe while traveling you might feel nostalgic for your favorite horse "Mr. Pumblebee". Don't despair, because you can import all your horses from the old game into the new!

All you need to import your favorite horse is a save file of BotW on your Switch with the aforementioned companion. Sorry to the dozen Wii U fans out there, your horses are lost forever. And with Wii U fans, I mean myself.

If you have your save on a different Switch, use the cloud to transfer it over. You really need the data stored locally, otherwise it won't work.

Now you can simply go to any stable in TotK and view your horses. Your old horses will be available to you for riding around Hyrule and reliving the nostalgia we all felt so long ago, when BotW released.

If you want to know, how to get the beloved Epona, we have an article on it right here.

Even though there are many new ways to travel Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom , nothing can make us feel quite as much like the chosen hero as galloping across the fields on a trusty steed of our choice.
