With the release of Wave 4 in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, we not only got two new cups, which contain a total of eight new tracks, but also a little teaser of new characters, that will come to Mario Kart. Wave 4 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC launched on March 8, and it was the first time the DLC also included a new character. Birdo has now been added to the race, but she seems not to be the only one. It looks like, Nintendo has 5 more characters planned for the future.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: New DLC Characters Coming
Wave 4 of the Mario Kart Deluxe DLC just launched, and with it, we got some solid hints on new DLC characters being released in the future. The latest update didn't just bring 8 more tracks into the roster, but also the Character Birdo.
The menu, where all your characters can be found has now opened up a new column with Birdo at the top, and five more slots underneath it, that are tagged with question marks, which of course suggests five upcoming characters, that will join the game within the next few waves:
Whoever will fill these slots is still unknown, it could be old characters from previous Mario Kart games or maybe even new ones from existing Nintendo franchises like Animal Crossing , The Legend of Zelda or Splatoon.
