Minecraft: Mineplex Will Feature "The Binding of Isaac"-Inspired Game Mode

Mineplex is soon to return! Ahead of the server's re-release later this year, the new network-owner Samito has talked about what is to come for the former Minecraft giants. He gave a short preview of a game mode they are planning to feature.

More insights about Mineplex! The former juggernaut on the Minecraft multiplayer market has finally revealed their plans for their future – well, at least some of them. And their plans are really exciting for players and developers alike!

In a video released on the weekend, Samito explained how Mineplex is planning to go forward with their network. The new owner went on to explain that Mineplex is not just going back to being a Minecraft server network – instead, it will be a whole developer studio!

The Future Of Mineplex: Mineplex Studios Want To Help Developers Make Games

Instead of hiring a dev team themselves, Samito has approached the return of Mineplex with a different logic: who would be better at making games for their players than the players themselves? Mineplex Studios were founded to support devs who might not have the finances and resources to pour into development of a game mode all by themselves, so this seems in keeping with the brand.

Here was the presentation:

This is also used for their upcoming Rogue-lite game mode, that is apparently inspired by the hit game The Binding of Isaac. Samito has not shared any further details on this game mode, but with Rogue-lites and Rogue-likes skyrocketing in popularity in recent years, there is a lot of hype to be expected!

However, this does not only apply for Mineplex game modes. Instead, Mineplex Studios are supposed to enable any kind of game! Every developer can become part of the Mineplex Studios for a small fee of USD$15 per month, and the revenue from the released games will be shared between Mineplex Studios and the developer.

So far, Samito is targeting the 2023 holiday season for a beta test of Mineplex' Bedrock server. This is supposed to be a closed beta, with an official announcement following at a later date.

All of this is definitely great news. We can't wait for Mineplex to be back!
