It seems like the next Mortal Kombat has been teased by one of the voice actors.
Fans have been wondering just what the next big plan for NetherRealm Studios could be. Mortal Kombat 11 released in 2019 and since then nothing has been heard from the studio since.
All we've known is that the developers are in the process of working on their next big project, and it seems that we can now say what that project is going to be. Is it going to be an MMORPG? A first-person shooter like never before? None of those things, but instead we're going to get another instalment of our favorite bloody fighting game, Mortal Kombat.
Actor Teases Mortal Kombat 12
The leak that the next game is going to be Mortal Kombat comes from none other than Andrew Bowen. Not sure who that is? Well, he is the actor for Johnny Cage, a character from the Mortal Kombat game series. He sent out a tweet on June 21, 2022 which could be the clue.
In the video, we see the actor himself standing at the Warner Bros. Studio. Warner Bros. own the Mortal Kombat franchise. But him standing at the studios isn't proof enough that the next Mortal Kombat is in the works, right? Well, he also included a backing track from the film Bloodsport.

Why did he include that track, exactly? It seems like a pretty big hint that Mortal Kombat 12 is in the works, no? This could indicate that Bowen will be working on his third instalment of the Mortal Kombat series as Johnny Cage. But are we surprised that after Mortal Kombat X and 11 he's back in his role as Johnny Cage?
So with that all revealed, it seems like NetherRealm is currently working on another Mortal Kombat. These are just rumors, but if you're a fan of the violent fighting game series, then you should get excited because these rumors could mean that the next game will be developed soon.
Is There A Release Date For Mortal Kombat 12?
A release date for the next Mortal Kombat game has not been revealed yet, since these are just leaks we're working off of. The game does seem to be in development and if voice actors are already working on their lines, then it could mean that the game might be ready within a few months, but nothing has been officially stated yet.
