We can already look forward to the reveal of a new Pokemon game. Here's everything we know.
According to PokeDoko we are getting the reveal for a new Pokémon game as early as next week. PokeDoko revealed the news here, and the story has since been picked up by VGC as well. More specifically, it is a listing of a new Japanese Television show, which gave away the news. PokeDoko reported that "the latest information on the new Pokémon game" will be shared during the show's broadcast on Sunday, April 24.
New Pokémon Game Will Be Revealed
Of course, with a statement as bold as the quoted one above, from an official source no less, this is much less of a leak than it is confirmation. Also, the timing does make sense because it coincides well enough with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which were announced two months ago and are expected to be dropping news as well.
Of course, the quote by PokeDoko could also be referring to said Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, though neither of them would be considered to be a 'new Pokémon game', since they were already revealed in February, and are confirmed to be released at the end of the year.
At this time, we aren't sure what this new game could be, we can only speculate really. There has been a lot of Pokémon recently: We have Scarlet and Violet coming soon (I'm super hyped, btw), and it hasn't been that long since Pokémon Arceus came out. We can expect DLC for that game to come out this year as well. 2022 already looks packed for Pokémon. But maybe this new game won't come out until 2023? Sword & Shield have been announced years ahead of release, maybe Game Freak will do something similar here.
So what could it be? Seeing how rarely a brand-new Pokémon game is released, this will hardly be the series' next AAA entry. We might be looking at a new spin-off game, or yet another remake. Or maybe Game Freak will bring back Pokémon Let's Go! That was an amazing new spin on the Pokémon formula, but we didn't get anything else in that series after the great debut.
Like I said, this is all assumption from me right now. It's hard to tell yet what this new Pokémon game could be, but we are extremely excited to find out. And we won't have to wait too long: we will find out more on this new Pokémon game on April 24, so... stay tuned.
