UFC's Dana White hints the future release of a game based on his Power Slap promotion.
It's certainly a very good year for fans of sports games. The first iteration of EA's Sports FC is coming up, the newest NBA 2K title is on its way and UFC 5 is set to be released early next year. Now, another interesting game was teased by UFC President Dana White.
Dana White Teases Power Slap Game
The internet is full of interesting and sometimes disturbing things. I remembered this when I stumbled upon slap-fighting videos for the first time. Just two people standing in front of each other and slapping the living sh*t out of each other. Until one of them can't stand anymore.
Well, it seems like this sport was popular enough, that UFC President Dana White founded his own promotion, Power Slap, to promote it. With some success, since the Power Slap Series aired on the big TV channel TBS and the video platform Rumble.
And now, there might be the first video game about it. According to White himself, the game "is getting close to getting it done and getting it out."

Not further information regarding the exact release date, price or the possible release platforms were given by White.
The UFC Subreddit was quickly filled with memes about the announced game, one of the most upvoted ones was a picture with a controller on it. This controller only possesses one button, for slapping. I mean, what else could you probably do in a game, which is all about slapping?

Other reactions from several Reddit users are going in the same meme direction. User "ProjectKeris" for example wrote:
Here it comes, ladies and gentlemen.OHHHHHHH. AND IT'S ALL OVER!!! KO by Slappage. We did not see that coming. Now, let's take a look at the review. The technique. It was so sound. Feet planted firmly, clocks back, and bammm, bammm, see you mam!
Multiple users are fearing that the game might be for mobile advices. User "sipCoding_smokeMath" wrote:
If they made it this quickly I'd almost guarantee it's a mobile game. You dont churn out a console game this quickly, even if there isn't much to the concept to begin with
In the most upvoted comment, the user "FullTime Jesus" fears the same:
Bruh this gonna be one of those shitty phone games with power meter for the slap
It will be interesting to see, how the game might look like once it's released. Which mechanics could be used to make the game more than just slapping your opponent?
