Overwatch 2 goes Greek mythology with Battle for Olympus, the first new event of 2023. We are soon getting a bunch of fancy new content, including a whole new game mode and amazing new skins. Here's everything you can expect of Battle of Olympus.
New year, new content. Activision Blizzard is starting the new Overwatch 2 year in style with Battle for Olympus, the next event in the multiplayer shooter. Not only are we getting a few new skins, but we will get to see 7 of our favorite heroes with the power of gods, competing against each other in the limited time game mode. We'll show you exactly what you can expect.
Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus Event: Release Date, Skins & Modes
The Overwatch 2 world will shine in Greek mythology style. The first event of the year will start on January 5 and will accompany us for two weeks, until January 19.

So we won't be bored in Overwatch 2. The event will start right after Winter Wonderland and will end right on time for the start of the Lunar New Year event.
So far, three skins are confirmed for the Battle for Olympus event. You can unlock Mythical Skin: Zeus Junker Queen, Legendary Poseidon Ramattra Skin and Legendary Hades Pharah Skin in the Battle Pass. But that's not all by a long shot. In the trailer, we also get to see Reinhardt and Widowmaker in a divine look, as well as Roadhog as Polyphemus and Lucio as Hermes. Cool skins that the community buys are just too good for business.
As it seems, each of the heroes will adapt the powers of their represented god. So, beware of Zeus Junker Queen, because her commanding shout will now hit her enemies with lightning.
The Battle for Olympus will be a free-for-all deathmatch mode, where players can pick from the seven god-representing heroes. The most exciting thing about this event, however, is that Blizzard will count each hero's number of eliminations in a global leaderboard, and the hero with the highest number will be honored with a statue in Ilios.

Minotaur Reinhardt: Charge in quick succession

The skins look amazing and the whole idea of making this event greek mythology themed is really unique and immediately impressed us. Sure, we'll have to wait and see how it is in-game, but it's very promising so far.
