With the launch of Overwatch 2, three new heroes were added to the roster. New Overwatch 2 Hero Leaked – Who Is It Going To Be?
The leaker OW2leaks4u is one of the few sources, I would put my trust into. A long time ahead of the Overwatch 2 launch, they had already leaked Kiriko as the new "Fox Girl" hero in Overwatch 2 and also never had an inaccurate leak.
Overwatch 2 Hero Got Removed From The Game... Again
To a question about whether he knows anything about the new season 2 hero, he responded with "My aunt's uncle got arthritis", which may sound like total nonsense at first, but it is actually a hidden message. If you take the first letters of every word in that sentence, it spells "MAUGA". But who is that anyway?
Well, Mauga is not only an already existing character in the Overwatch universe, but also a very popular one. He appeared in the Baptiste short story "What you left behind" as a strapping Talon force and a former friend of Baptiste's. Mauga has a dark and lighter side; on the one hand, he cares for his friend and shows Baptiste mercy after he abandoned him, but on the other hand, he is making jokes about mass murdering innocent people. Strange dude!
Mauga is a Heavy Assault at Talon, and therefore has a big, tank-like stature and heavy armor. Sounds a lot like a tank, right? Well, that is exactly, what the Overwatch game director Aaron Keller has already indicated in the past.
In case you didn't know, Mauga was originally intended to be Hero 31, but as the design for the new hero came together, Blizzard decided that it didn't suit Mauga's personality and instead created an entirely new hero, Sigma. But Geoff Goodman and Joshua Noh stated, that they still plan on making him a playable hero in Overwatch. They made that statement about 3 years ago, so I guess it's finally time. We will see if our guess is correct, by watching the OWL Grand Finals on Friday, November 4.
What do you think? Are you as excited for Mauga as I am, or do you believe it could be a totally different hero?
