Phantom Hellcat is an innovative Hack 'n Slash game that stole the show at the Gamescom Opening Night. Here's what we know.
Phantom Hellcat... oh, damn this game loos cool. Now, a hack 'n slash is nothing new, but a hack 'n slash game that features 3D/2D camera-shifting-perspectives? That's innovative, and also... that's giving me serious, serious Nier vibes.
Phantom Hellcat: Innovation Is Beautiful
The game has you play as Jolene, who, after breaking a seal on a cursed theater, is cast into a world of darkness that takes her mother hostage. Of course, the goal is to get your mother back, and, in order to do that, you use the props and weapons around the theatre to combat evil. Damn... even that's innovative.
As if the innovative combat wasn't enough, the camera will switch between 2D and 3D, and the game will come to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC at an undisclosed time. If all of that wasn't enough, then the game's developer should give you some hope, because the game is made by Ironbird Creations, who also made Ghostrunner, so... they've proven that they know what they're doing when it comes to action.
Of course, Phantom Hellcat is not the only great game that was revealed at the Gamescom, so do check out our article covering all the highlights from the event.
