Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have unique Pokémon in each edition, as is usual for the game series. Players are used to that by now and are always on the lookout for a workaround to this feature, so that they can truly catch 'em all. The newest Nintendo Switch titles in the RPG series offer a nifty solution: trade codes. We will show you everything you need to know about what these codes are and how you can use them, to get exclusive Pokémon.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Trade Codes

Trade codes are a system, with which you can trade versions of exclusive Pokémon online. This system was mainly established by YouTuber Austin John Plays. If you want to swap one Pokémon for another Pokémon, you need to type in a certain code and this will be matched for a trade with another player, who typed in the same code. Here's what you need to do to use trade codes:

  • Open the Poké Portal
  • Go to "Link Trade"
  • Type in the code you want to use.

Scarlet and Violet are not the most beautiful games out there. But we got a list of those right here:

Austin John Plays has popularized a system for these trade codes. You can see a list with all codes here. Now, if you want to trade a Sprigatito for a Quaxly, for example, you'll need to type in the code "0001 - 0007". The player who wants to do the same trade will type in the same code. And then you two are in business. Easy!
