Red Dead Redemption 2 Gets Mexico Map Expansion

Red Dead Online is still getting updates, but Red Dead Redemption 2 has been left in the hands of modders. Luckily for us, those modders have now delivered a massive Mexico expansion.

In essence, this mod comes our way courtesy of some players who felt nostalgic about the first Red Dead Redemption, and were deeply missing Nuevo Paraíso. You can find the mod here, and, in essence, it's a collection of all the Mexico content that's been assembled on Nexus Mods over the years.

What's in the Red Dead Redemption 2 Mexico Mod?

The package includes the following mods: Escalera, Chuparosa, Casa Madrugada, El Matadero and a couple more. Seriously, this mod brings the whole area alive and gives you a good reason to jump back into Red Dead Redemption 2.

Now, if you've been following Rockstar a bit more closely lately (trust us, we have, since we're always on the lookout for GTA leaks), then you'll know that they've been busy removing content based on their properties: GTA Underground, Vice City Stories, Liberty Citiy Stories and San Andreas Reimagined were all removed. The official reason given is that those mods were a threat to the publisher's economy, and that is most likely the reason. Rockstar is working on a GTA Trilogy Remaster, and, naturally, have no interest in gamers getting to witness remasters of their games elsewhere.

With rumors of a Red Dead Redemption remake looming, it is quite possible that Rockstar will have this mod removed sooner or later. After all, having access to 4K Mexico for free, gives you less reason to pay for whatever remake or remaster Rockstar is cooking up.

If you want to see what the talented modders have cooked up for us, then I suggest you get on Nexus Mods quick and give this one a spin before the DMCA hammer.
