Playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on Xbox Game Pass or EA Play is something many fans of the franchise desire – and their hopes may come true shortly.
Xbox Game Pass is the most popular video game subscription service on the market. Its subscribers have access to hundreds of games that they can play at any time, on either their PC or Xbox, for a monthly fee. EA Play offers the same service, but exclusively for the publishers catalog.
While Game Pass and EA Play users have a plethora of games at their disposal, whenever a hotly-anticipated title is close to releasing, people want to know if they will have access to it at launch, or ever. And it wasn't any different with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor when it launched for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC last year.
Unfortunately, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has not been on Game Pass at launch, and still isn't today. However, chances are high that this may change soon.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Might Become Part Of The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Soon
There are actually several reasons to be very optimistic about a release of Jedi: Survivor on Xbox Game Pass in general. First of all, the game has been available on EA Play Pro since launch. EA Play Pro is the premium tier of the EA's subscription service, which costs $14.99/month. Usually, games that are on EA Play Pro eventually also become available in the standard EA Play subscription Tier – and since that one is included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you'd be able to play Jedi: Survivor as soon as it's part of EA Play.
Furthermore, the first game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has also made its way to the Xbox Game Pass – exactly one year after its launch.
That brings us to the timing: Survivor was released on April 28, 2023. This means that there is a good chance the game will become part of the standard EA Play subscription tier on its release anniversary at the end of April, making it available for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers as well. Instead of late April, early May would be another potential release month, since May 4 is the global Star Wars day ("May the 4th be with you"..).
Another big hint that this is happening soon was uncovered on April 22. The Jedi: Survivor page on the PlayStation Store showed the game as "Included with EA Play". This only appeared in certain regions and seemed to be an accident.
However, this is a strong indicator that the game's rollout on the service is currently being prepared. Though there is no guarantee that Jedi: Survivor will come to Game Pass, we are pretty confident that we'll see it become available through the Ultimate Tier sometime soon. The upcoming anniversary on April 28 is a likely date.
Besides the mentioned circumstances, the game has also been heavily discounted several times, which indicates that it isn't bought that much anymore, which usually increases the chance to make it available as part of a subscription.
