Star Wars Outlaws was one of the biggest announcements at Xbox Games Showcase. Everything we know so far about Ubisoft's new open world RPG game.
Star Wars Outlaws will be the newest addition to the vast Star Wars Game-Franchise. The first Trailer was shown at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 and fueled a lot of excitement for the community. Here's everything we know so far about Ubisoft's new open world RPG Star Wars: Outlaws.
Star Wars Outlaws Trailer Analysis
The world premiere trailer reveals a lot of information about the setting and the main character.
The game is set during the Galactic Civil War, between the First Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. So it's most likely between the end of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (Episode 3) and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Episode 6). The trailer shows space-battle scenes between the most recognizable ships of the Star Wars Universe-the Empire's Star Destroyer and the Rebel Alliance's X-Wing Starfighter.
We also got to see the main antagonists: imperial Stormtroopers and gangsters from the Pyke Syndicate, which we saw in the Han Solo movie. This already gives us a firm idea of the game. Most likely the action will happen in the lawless regions of the Outer Rim, a section of the Star Wars Galaxy where crime syndicates are the ruling powers.
The trailer continues with a bar-scene, similar to the scenes in Star Wars: A New Hope and in the popular Mandalorian TV series, in which the main character of the game is introduced. Kay Vess, a female Han Solo type of character, is shown playing a card game, getting hunted by bounty hunters and riding a speeder bike. Always followed by some kind of space axolotl.
Star Wars Outlaws Release Date & Platforms
Unfortunately, fans of the Star Wars Universe will have to wait a little longer until an official release date will be announced. So far, the only thing we know, is that Star Wars Outlaws will arrive in 2024. The game will be an open world game with a focus on the criminal underworld.
It will be playable on PC, Xbox Series X|S consoles and PlayStation 5.
Meet cunning scoundrel Kay Vess, in Star Wars Outlaws, the first-ever open-world Star Wars game.
