With many fans in the community already playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, others are wondering if they will even get the chance to play it, since they don't own a next-gen-console or a PC that is powerful enough. Namely, players on the Nintendo Switch are curious if they will be able to pay Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in the near or distant future. This guide will answer all of the pertinent questions regarding the possibility of Jedi: Survivor on the Switch.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor On Nintendo Switch: Release Unlikely
Unfortunately for any Nintendo diehards out there, the developers of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor currently have no plans to port the game over to the Switch. This mainly stems from the fact that Jedi: Survivor was initially developed for the more modern consoles, like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The game utilizes high-end graphics and gameplay elements that are mainly accessible on the current-gen consoles and PCs. This is primarily the reason that the game is not launching on the last-gen consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One. Usually, when games only release for modern systems, the Nintendo Switch is left out of the conversation.
What makes Jedi: Survivor even more unlikely to be released on Nintendo Switch is that also the prequel Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has never made it on Nintendo's handheld. Since Fallen Order was a huge success and with the Star Wars franchise usually being a guarantee for success, Nintendo would probably have tried to get it on Switch as well. The fact that this has never happened indicates that this was simply not possible, probably for technical reasons.
While nothing has been officially confirmed by any sources, it seems very doubtful that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor would ever be able to run properly on the Switch. If it will ever make its way to a Nintendo console, then most likely to the Nintendo Switch 2, but Nintendo hasn't even officially announced its next console generation yet.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S .
