Stardew Valley is set up to get its next update, 1.6, sometime in the (hopefully) near future. The developer of Stardew Valley, ConcernedApe, has just dropped a new teaser, which we believe is hinting at new content for the 1.6 update.
ConcernedApe has done it again! With the release of a new image on Twitter, he's got the Stardew Valley community going wild with ideas and theories as to what this simple image could mean for our beloved indie game.
It's crazy how Stardew Valley has been out since 2016 and now, seven years later, we're still sitting at the edge of our seats waiting for ConcernedApe to reveal any news about Stardew Valley updates and his new project Haunted Chocolatier.
Also, can we just take a second to appreciate how awesome it is that ConcernedApe isn't just focusing all his energy on his new game, but is still putting in a bunch of love and effort into Stardew Valley?
Most people would just say that the game is fully finished, but obviously, we still have some aspects to uncover!
Stardew Valley: Is ConcernedApe Teasing New Ginger Island Content?
Apparently, Mr. ConcernedApe hasn't got enough on his plate with the release of the Stardew Valley Cookbook and the development of Haunted Chocolatier, because he is still making new content for Stardew Valley (I'm not complaining, though, I love that he's doing this).
ConcernedApe's newest teaser is an image that he uploaded on Twitter with no caption:

From the looks of it, we'll be getting new content related to Ginger Island (since that's where the parrots live). But wait…what's that parrot sitting on top of? Is that a Joja Corporation bird perch?
Maybe we haven't actually seen the last of Joja Corporation.
For those of you that haven't already unlocked Ginger Island in Stardew Valley (warning, slight spoilers here), once you finish the community center in Stardew Valley, the JojaMart in Pelican Town will go out of business, and you'll receive a letter from Willy (you'll also get that letter if you decide to be evil and complete the JojaMart bundles. I'd lie and say I'm not judging you, if you did do that, but I am. Shame on you.)
After you get his letter, you can help Willy repair his boat and from then on you can visit Ginger Island, which is part of the Fern Islands archipelago.
Now, as we can tell from the image that ConcernedApe uploaded, it seems as though the Joja Corporation, your old stomping grounds, has also found out about the existence of Ginger Island.
Perhaps we'll either have to try and get rid of the Joja Corporation on Ginger Island, just as we had in Pelican Town, or we'll have to live with the Joja Corporation in harmony on Ginger Island. After all, normal money is pretty much useless on Ginger Island, and this could give us a new incentive to spend money post-game.
I'd theorize that we might get a new Joja Shop™ near the dock of Ginger Island, or that Joja Corp has trained parrots to bring you items that you want to buy from them (this idea is a bit far-fetched, but it would explain the perch).
Or, maybe those aren't real parrots, but instead robot parrots (you know, because the parrot is the same color as the Stardew Valley currency) that will unlock other areas of the island if you give them money instead of golden walnuts! Ok, the robot aspect might be a bit much, but I like the idea that we still haven't seen everything that Ginger Island has to offer.
Perhaps the parrots will even show us a way to the other Fern Islands, as Ginger Island isn't the only island in that area.
Until ConcernedApe actually reveals more details about update 1.6 we won't know for sure, but I am already absolutely hyped for it! As soon as we find out more, we will keep you updated!
