We already know that Starfield's universe will be pretty huge. But there is a way that the community can create even more content for the sci-fi RPG.
Bethesda's Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and many sci-fi fans are already hyped for it. The promise of a nearly endless universe with over 1,000 planets and endless opportunities, missions and tasks fuels the imagination of a lot of people.
But for some of them, this won't be enough, and they want to individualize their game. In the past, they could "simply" build their own modifications for Bethesda games like Skyrim or Fallout. But will Starfield offer a similar community mod support?
Starfield To Have Community Mod Support
Some players just need something else in their games, so they create mods for their favorite games, for example to enhance the game performance or change certain graphics. Especially older Bethesda titles like TES Skyrim and Fallout have a big modding community behind them. And Bethesda supported it.
So a lot of players are wondering if the same will count for Starfield. To make it quick: Yes, Starfield will probably have full community mod support. This was confirmed by Starfield Producer Todd Howard during a Reddit "Ask me anything", nearly 2 years ago:
Our plan it have full mod support like our previous games. Our modding community has been with us for 20 years. We love what they do and hope to see more make a career out of it.
So it will be possible to create own content for the sci-fi RPG. The question is how far this will go. In Skyrim for example, there was nothing that didn't exist. Photorealistic graphic mods, additional missions, Thomas the Tank Engine as Dragons, NSFW mods with adult stuff and much more.
The future will show how mod friendly Starfield will be and how many community members will be developing and implementing their own stuff into the game. But it's a good sign for fans of the older Bethesda titles, that their efforts in the mod department were recognized by the company and Todd Howard.

Let's hope that many of them will show the same motivation for Starfield to make this apparently huge game even bigger. Starfield is set to be released on September 6, 2023, for Xbox Series and PC.
