The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is here, and the new No Return mode can be pretty challenging at times. You can make your life easier if you know which weapons to use when and which are the best for the different encounters.
No Return in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered can boost your stress levels pretty high – no more ammo, but lots of Seraphites left to eliminate? Just a measly pistol to defend Jackson from WLFs? Knowing which weapons to get can save your No Return run.
Before each new encounter, you can upgrade your gear and buy some new weapons – depending on which randomized selection you get. Here are the weapons you should definitely get as soon as you get the chance.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered: Best Weapons To Get In No Return
Depending on your playstyle, these picks might differ. But no matter if you prefer to use stealth or barge in guns-a-blazin', one thing is for certain: you won't make it through (or even to!) the Boss if you don't have the firepower to beat him.
Shotguns are always a safe bet if you like to charge right into the action – while sprinting will not get you very far, it's always an option to go from cover to cover until you're right in your enemies faces and blow them away before they even know what hit them.
The Hunting Pistol might be your pick if you prefer so keep some distance between you and the baddies. Rifles are also a solid pick, especially if you upgrade them to get those one-shot kills. If you're confident in your stealth skills and want to keep hidden throughout the encounter, I recommend using the Bow.
Don't Forget Melee Weapons And Craftables In No Return
If you're in a tight spot – and chances are you'll get in a few stressful situations in your runs – melee weapons and craftables might just save your skin. You can loot the melee weapons from enemies you've killed or get them at the Trading Post if luck wasn't on your side in your last encounter. Dodging and then bashing some heads in works most of the time.
It's also essential to grab all the supplies you can find in every encounter. You can buy crafting recipes at the Trading Post (some characters already got them from the get-go) and it doesn't hurt to always have a molotov or a pipe bomb in your pocket – these can easily save you if you find yourself with your back against a wall and an army of enemies in front of you.
At the end of day, it's individual preference which weapon to use. You should still get some firepower before facing a boss – stealth and a baseball bat will only get you so far against the Rat King.
