Rumor has it that Fallout: New Vegas 2 is finally in development at Obsidian Entertainment. Is there any truth to the leaks?
[Update, February 25, 2022]
We got more news on Fallout: New Vegas 2, people! Does this mean that it's actually happening?!
On his podcast, Jeff Grubb has claimed that Obsidian (who was the original creator of Fallout New Vegas) might just create a sequel to their first game.
This is very early, but people have begun to have talks and say these words in sentences, and those words are "Obsidian" and "New Vegas 2" [...] We're talking years and years away. There's at least an interest and conversations happening about making something like that actually a reality. [...] A lot of people at Microsoft think that this could work and there’s a lot of interest to make it happen.
It's the word of an industry insider, so same story as below, but the fact that these talks about Fallout New Vegas 2 come up again and again are interesting, for sure. Let's hope there's some truth to it.

Industry 'insiders'. That's all we rely on these days. Am I ashamed? Yes. Does this make it any less true? No. The fact of the matter is that social media journalists are the new CIs (criminal informants), except the only criminal thing they're guilty of is clickbait.
So... who's this newest offender, and what is he proclaiming? Well, you saw the headline, now read the sub-header and weep. Then we'll get into the nitty-gritty:
Apparently, Fallout: New Vegas 2 Is in Development
Now, as you all might not know: Obsidian Entertainment was responsible for Fallout New Vegas. Obsidian is owned by ZeniMax Media, who were bought by Microsoft. Obsidian is also the company that made The Outer Worlds, and is currently working on the Avowed (which looks like a better Skyrim – no lie).
Now, Tyler McVicker, who's been right more often than not, and who correctly predicted Half Life Alyx (!), talked about Fallout New Vegas 2 apparently being in development. Source? His podcast.
McVicker cites inside sources, but all we really have to go on is his general credibility. Of course, it shouldn't surprise anyone if we actually do see a Fallout New Vegas 2. After all, the original New Vegas is, arguably, the most popular Fallout ever, and there have been a number of mods expending on the post-apocalyptic Vegas experience.
If we do get a Fallout New Vegas 2, though, you can bet the house that it will be Xbox exclusive, just like Starfield, and the Elder Scrolls 6. Also, it would make sense for Obsidian to work on a sequel to New Vegas, since the last two Fallout games weren't exactly their best outing. In fact, Fallout 76 is arguably one of the worst games Bethesda ever released. Certainly, they want to bounce back from that, and what better way to do that, than Fallout New Vegas 2?
