Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Dev Apologizes For Bad PC Port But Add It's Not Their Fault

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty released all the way back in March 2023. While the game was well received on console, for PC players it has been anything but smooth sailing, with the version on Steam being bugged to hell and back.

Since March, mediocre and bad reviews have accumulated under the game, with many stating that the game is just not worth it on the PC and many regretting making the purchase, because the game just doesn't run properly.

Wo Long: Devs Apologize For PC Port Issues

That the PC version of a beloved console game is not the best isn't anything new. Naughty Dog had their issues with The Last of Us PC version and so have other games and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is no exception.

It's gotten so bad that in a recent letter from the Director and Producer Masakazu Hirayama he even acknowledged the issues and issued and apology to players who have experienced problems with the PC Port.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to everyone playing the PC version of Wo Long since its release. I can assure you that the development team has read each and every report posted on various bulletin boards, social channels, our customer support department, and we have placed top priority on optimization and bug fixes.

While he does acknowledge the issue and states that the team will be working on fixing the biggest issues in the PC version, he does go on to explain that there are multiple PC environments, meaning they cannot optimize the game for every single PC out there.

Which... fine... but other games and developers of the same size, or even smaller, are able to at least fix and stabilize issues for other games, right?

However, there are many combinations of PC environments in each household, and while our team continues to expand the environments where the game is checked post-launch, it will take time to replicate issues and properly fix them.

It will take the devs of Wo Long: Final Dynasty even longer to get these fixes out. To have this only acknowledged months after the release, with issues plaguing the PC version for so long is quite disappointing. Especially when you see that there will be purchasable DLC content coming on a monthly basis soon. Goes to show where the priorities are, eh?
